This is a poor rationalization since we are comparing one person deciding between a c5z06 and a base c6, the driver would be the same and so would the gas. 100lbs is more than you think, manufacturers are swapping out as many parts as they can with carbon fiber and charging tens of thousands more to reduce weight by 100lbs.

Yeah, I guess my perspective is a bit different as I already have my comfy cruiser that looks cool. If I was gonna get a car now, it'd be a track car. But if C6s become quite a bit cheaper than the c5Z, I'd go that route and gut the hell out of it.

x2 on the 6l80e, no one is really tuning them well on cars making big power. Epic even swapped to a newer version of that trans which was a huge bitch, had to break it open and swap to his older tcm, etc...and he is still not very happy with it.

C6z deals are out there. I believe once the c7z comes out, especially if it's a crazy price, it will stabilize c6z prices to about mid 30s mark, much like the c5z holds value so well at about mid 20s.
