my thought here though is I would rather have a base c6 than a c5 zo6... i think this discussion has happened on here before.... but I'd rather have the extra displacement, better interior (barely), and IMO a base c6 can look better than a c5 zo6 pretty easily... but that is of course completely subjective.

I think an ls3 and c5z have almost identical performance. C5 is a lot lighter though which is huge if you're going to mod.

best bang for your buck for drag racing would be base 1LT 08 C6 LS3 auto. Its going to be almost the lightest C6, with the best motor and trans. Those cars rip out of the hole with a stall and a tire. Thats what I would do.

Yup, I found 3179 for a 2007 Corvette coupe and 3118 for a 2003 Z06. It's less than 100lbs difference. Almost negligible.
