Serious question, why should I watch Black Sails?

Edit: Now that Ive caught my breath....great story, great acting, great set pieces, great action. Its just an all around enjoyable show.

Serious question, why should I watch Black Sails?

IMO, its the best show on TV (every bit as good as GoT was in the first two seasons.) They went a little off the course this week, but it is what it is.

While I can see that happening, its almost *too* easy of a resolution.

This week went full retard. Its definitely an interesting twist, one that I'm not really sure I'm a fan of but its interesting none the less.

All the characters have a storyline tho....and its obvious they are all going to end up going after the same thing.

Yeah, its a...different plot idea. Gotta give them credit for having the balls to put that into a TV show that is clearly marketed toward a mostly male demographic.

At least they did it in a completely surprising way. I did not see it coming at all.

I just hope they don't overstate it, and make it a focal point. I mean we get the point now, move it on.

I dont see them bringing it back up again. What reason would they have to? It really has nothing to do with the main plot at hand and for all we know, he was just curious.

And the only one who knows is Giant Boobs Barlow.

Well why bring it up at all then? I mean, they could have got the point across that he was doing this for a friend without bringing that element into it.

I mean it was to blatantly show why this was so important to him. Doing it "just for a friend" isnt convincing enough. And it makes the flashbacks make WAY more sense.

I just hope it doesnt go all GOT and show dicks all the time now.

They spent so much time on Flints story this season, he isn't going anywhere. Vane is like this shows Daryl Dixon except he isn't a total pussy.

If Vane goes away...who becomes the "villain" (I dont even see him as a villain in the traditional sense)? Guthrie and father? Billy?

And Papa Guthrie was the gov mentioned in the flashback.....ya?

I don't really see Vane as a villian this season. With him showing up for the meeting with Blondie, him being nice to that hostage, him eliminating the threat to Blondie/port. They spent a good chunk of time trying to get people to like him.
