Better have Will and Martin.
The gap between the first two films was eight years. Now it's been 12 since Bad Boys II, and that's just so far. Well, Smith has just dropped this tantalizing morsel for fans of that franchise.
"There's a very, very, very strong possibility that you will be seeing a Bad Boys between the next 12 to 16 months."
That's what he said about the status of the film, when asked by Beats 1 Radio. That's all he would say for the time being.
Smith said Monday on BBC Radio 1Xtra that him and "Bad Boys" co-star Lawrence are "definitely doing another one." "Bad Boys 3" is currently scheduled to be released in 2017.
Love those movies. This is by far one of the best scenes.

Good thing he wised up.
According to Exhibitor Relations, Sony Pictures‘ long-in-development Bad Boys 3 has been given a new name: Bad Boys for Life. This is a reference to Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s characters’ famous motto, “We ride together, we die together, bad boys for life.” Also, after being originally dated for February 17, 2017, then delayed to June 2, 2017, the threequel has shifted dates yet again to the relatively quiet January 12, 2018 where it will be opening against Fox’s Maze Runner: The Death Cure and Paramount’s Sherlock Gnomes.
The A-Team and The Grey director Joe Carnahan (taking the reigns from Michael Bay) will helm the film.
I still can't figure out how 50 year old Lawrence is going to be able to run around let alone do anything "action" related.
But will see to find out.
According to Deadline, Sony Pictures is in negotiations with directing team Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to take over for Michael Bay in Bad Boys For Life. The film is also eyeing an August production date. The pair is best known for their work on the Belgian film Black, which told the Romeo and Juliet-inspired tale of a boy and girl in Brussels who, despite being members of two rival gangs, fall in love with each other.
