Cage is painted and headers are on though I may have to run open headers for a little while...:damnit: The collector on the passenger side is where it is supposed to be but the driverside is way off to make it through the crossmember and make it to wide for the x too mount up...

My buddy had this exact same problem a month ago only difference is his are 351 based Kooks... Really glad I did not pay full price or I'd be real pist about it. I will either eventually modify the crossmember and make some offsets to make the x-pipe work. Or I may just do what my buddy just did on his, which he cut the collector down and added 5" Vibrant mufflers and turndowns to keep it a little quiter and to stop it from melting the crossmember bushings.

That sucks that the X is not lining up.

Can you not fab up the X to work? Maybe cut the slants on the X before it hits the crossover and add some extension pieces, to get it to the proper width.

I could but wanted to see what it does open headers anyways and I am "Really Jonesing" to make some passes so it can wait. I'll get to it eventually. The crossmeber would need to be custom which I could make a tubular one and just add some 8" long offsets to make the connection is what l'll prolly end up doing or just fab a whole new stainless x. The one I have is mild steel which is the only X kit kooks offers. Also depending on what headers I get for the other motor I may use it on that, it worked fine on my buddies car.

i bet those are manual trans headers, we ran into lots of auto headers trying to find "cheap" headers for Jbigs 85 GT

i think he would have "saved" about 600$ if he had just bought brand new in the begining

it could be yer X pipe is for a manual, too many kooky things with these heaps

The X I have came off a c4 and I have the kooks headers that went with it but they have seen better days... I did put the new tubes on the passenger side next to the old ones I have and the bends were identicle. Wish that I would have did that on the driver side...

MAC 1 3/4" manual header on left, MAC auto on right (black)

Hmm... could be though I didn't see different ones for manual or auto listed by Kooks when I was looking to buy new ones maybe I wasn't looking at the fine details. I did just go back and look at the guy's I got these from parts list and he was also running a c4.

No biggie started it today everything works and sounds Killer :fy: so I will order the 3.5" Kooks stainless turndowns tonight.

Painted the floors black, permanently mounted the yellow top and the battery box, shortened up some wires as well as moved a few. Made up a new harness for the autometer LEDs for the gauges. Will have the dash/gauges and the center console in tomorrow.

Looking great!

Thanks!

Bit too much green for my taste, but the rest looks great.

Thanks! I had to go with LED's because at night with the regular autometer bulbs I could barely see the numbers on the silver gauges with the numbers being black. Wish I had went with black gauges, where the numbers are white and easy to see at night...oh well I will do black on the next one.

Thank's Gimpy, l love the deep emerald jewl green and think I know which hatch you're talking about. A Lx with a blower, chrome beadlocks and a chute?

Picked up 6'x5' automotive black carpet for $15 @ Menards and the seat cover, g-force harness and tabs came in. Still waiting on the seat and mounting bracket to come in. I'll put the carpet in today.

Installed the manual brake and put the carpet in. I couldn't do it in one piece but it still turned out pretty good! Used 3m spray adhessive to glue it down. Need some black floor mats cause that carpet wouldn't last to long without them. The seat came in, still waiting on the seat mounting bracket though. I have no tracking # on it so I will be calling Holcomb Monday it's been a week.

Need to order some sfi padding for the cage as well as do some touch ups on the cages paint from installing the interior... Once I get the seat bracket I just need to take it by my buddies shop and get an alignment done and it's ready for some street hits and then the track. I put the stock seat in today and tested the stiff ass manual brakes with a footbrake 60' holeshot :fy:
