why do expeditions and navigators seem to depreciate quicker/more than their gm counterparts

discuss.

really though, like a used 4x4 leather 2017 burban with 80k miles on it is a upper 30's if not 40k vehicle. same expedition is going to be low 30's.

example:

really solidly equipped 2017 expedition limited:

comparable burban:

Burbs and hoes are like wranglers so fucking expensive new and used. I don't get it.

seriously it just doesn't compute
especially because for the example i posted, i posted all 5.3 burbs, vs 3.5 ecoboost expeditions, and that 3.5 is going to do nearly everything better in one of these trucks than a 5.3 i'd bet.

because burbans and tahoes look 10000000000000x better than expy's and navigators of the same model year. The new body style expedition is as good looking as its ever been so maybe depreciation won't be as bad

Clean GM full size SUV's are just timeless looking, I've thought that since I was a kid.

IMO the front end of the previous gen expy (which I think ended in 2017) looked like it was still taking styling cues from the ugly 2008-2014 f150's

Here is my thoughts. I know it'll get picked apart...

1) Supply and demand. People want the GM's. People don't want the fords. Sales net this out new and used.
2) Known commodity with what you're getting. You know that you're getting a pretty solid, proven, tried and true simple V8 that in general, will be running in 10, 15, 20 years with nothing more than basic maintenance.

2017 was a super outdated Expy on its last year. Better comparison is 2018+

A quick Google will show the 2017 Expedition is nearly the same as a 2007 Expedition which is why the end of the generation depreciated so poor.

Even you say the 3.5 is better and still want the Chevy.

People love the chevys and are whatever about the furds except those eGoboost huggers

GM trucks have always brought more money, even older trucks are the same way, best example is my daily beater 2001 crew cab f150 with the 5.4, a comparable Silverado/Sierra wouldve cost me a few more grand yet the truck does everything the GM’s do.

like what the fuck. 2017 almost 80k miles. $43,000. and ebay's thing even says it's underpriced.
That’s just fucking insane. I have been looking at something bigger to replace the Accord and I just can’t bring my self to spend that kind of money on a used truck or suv
