Urathene is still somewhat soft when dry. Not like super soft but solid mount would be more rigid.

They sell all kinds of subframe mounts for Camaro's/Nova's. But I bet the poly ones from an S10 would be a direct swap.

I was thinking more about this last night. I be GM used rubber mounts cause the subframes are probally all not perfectly square when they got made. So the rubber mounts make it easier if the bolts dont exactly line up

There is enough slop in the body section of the car where the welded in cage nut is. I agree that it is more for NVH. Even though GM sucks donkey asshole they do have somewhat of a standard when it comes to measurements on the structural parts of the car and I am sure all cradles are built on the same jig.
