^^^ Correct. Fab 9 with an Aerospace Components aluminum third member with a spool and a 3.25 gear which will only be used for the 1/2 mile shootout. Then will switch it up to either a 3.50 or a 3.73

A 3.50 or 3.70 gear is a lot for a 88mm turbo pushrod car. What RPM are you planning to spin the motor to?

At 8000 will be about 186.

If i hit anywhere around 180 ill be happy.

problem is your going to hit that rpm way before the 1/2 mile ends, no?

that combo should EASILY trap in the mid 150's in the quarter even with that 3.25 gear. now add another 1320ft to the equation.


i have never done a 1/2 mile event. it just seems to me unless you roll out a good amount before you lean into it, your going to be in a very high rpm band very quickly.

I agree completely. If it happens to run out of gear then ill have to live with it. I don't really want to spend extra money for one event since the car will mostly see the 1/4 mile anyways. I will go out there and put it to the wood and hope it goes home in one piece. Lol

i hear ya there. just keep an eye on that rpm. lol. that will be the key to making it last. good luck!
