But those mortagage rates have been GREAT!!!!.......That must have all been from Clinton.......Hail to the Chief! :headbang:

Well yeah the war made the prices go up... But it wasn't Clinton that made the Mortagage go down. It was 9-11. So bush's only good dead in office. Other then that. I spend now about 20 dollars just to get a full tank... before it used to be 10 and 5. I want the old prices back damn it... And it is Bush's fault.

Explosion rocks BP Texas City refinery
23 Mar 2005 20:31:50 GMT
Source: Reuters
(Adds reports of fatalities, company confirmation of blast, details)

TEXAS CITY, Texas, March 23 (Reuters) - An explosion rocked BP's <BP.N> huge refinery in Texas City, Texas, on Wednesday, the company said, and local television reported that four people were killed in the blast.

Another 10 people were rushed to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB)in Galveston, according to the televised report.

The BP refinery, the third largest refinery in the country, has a throughput of 470,000 barrels per day.

"Our firemen are on scene assessing the situation and we have no further information at this time," said a spokeswoman for the Texas City Fire Department.

Clouds of black smoke were billowing from several fires at the plant. One refinery expert said the site appeared to be part of the refinery used to make gasoline.

BP's Bill Stephens said the explosion was on the west end of the complex but could not confirm what units were affected.

Gas is an interesting topic and I just did a huge paper and presentation on this for my Research and Analysis class....

Interesting to see as below how each person feels gas is so expensive but if you look at it through inflation adjusted from the beginning of times you will see the price of gas has remained relatively the same...

WOW!, Rjaz gtp, great information!

most people seem to like to blame bush for the sky being blue. but the fact is, no one can come up with one reason as to why it's his fault. But don't blame them, it's because they are sheep, that rely on the liberal media for their information, and this is all they know.

If people would step back, and actually evaluate things, you will see, that bush is one of the only presidents that actually has balls, and does what he thinks is right. isn't this what a president is supposed to do? We vote them in, because they are supposed to make the decisions to run the country, and so far, he is one of the only ones, that does what he thinks is right, no matter what bad things people say about him.

The economy sucks, because of the events on 9/11. And, for the most part, we have done a decent job recovering for it. Stock market is just about where it was pre911, and jobs are on the rise.

If you are unhappy about gas prices, drive less. Reports have stated that even though gas prices have jumped, usage has remained steady. These money hungry OPEC people are not going to drop prices, until they lose money. If we were to slow our consumtion, prices would most likely drop, but, I do not see this happening. With most cars getting worse gas milage, and people driving more and more, I see gas prices remaining about the same (going higher, than leveling out)

Another things a lot of people forget, is that we have been involved in many wars, before this. And we had to fight for the freedoms we have today. Too many people take this for granted. It's like a bully, if he hits you once, and you do nothing, he hits you again, if you take action, chances are, that bully doesn't hit you again.

And, aside from the horrible reporting in the middle east, if you try and get through that, to the honest reporting, you will see, that, even though we haven't found any major weapons, we have done lots of good there, and for the most part, the people are grateful.

How many times have you started on a job or mission, and the outcome was completly different than expected, but the outcome was good, did you count that as a failure? I think not.

I truley love America, as I am sure most here do. Let's support our country, through thick and thin, and respect one another all the time. And let's try to DRIVE LESS so we can show these OPEC guys whats up.

Thank you for your ear.

We never did get oil from Iraq. The French did. Since the 70's we moved ourselfs away from opec. Problem is rest of the world didn't. Europe and Japan get there oil from middle east. We have been protecting their interests for years.
As for SUV's...Back in the 80's when the japanese where killing the domestic guys, the big three got the goverment to put high tariffs on the imports to slow them down and raises their costs. The government put most of it on trucks/suvs because it was a small market and the japanese didnt get all ticked off. So the big 3 raised there prices by about a 3rd on suvs. And started advertising suvs as a must have. The lambs the the american public are bought into it. So the japanese moved assembly over here and avoided the traiffs anyway. Now that everyone has an suv they are trying to come up with a new market thus the push for rwd again. And hybrids which still make no since. A corolla gets like 3 mpg less than the prius but costs thousands less. Would take almost 15 years to make up the difference in prices. Don't be a lamb!!....... :lolsign:

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next
trip to the pump...

And - If you don't pass this along to at least one person, your nose
will fall off.

Compared with Gasoline

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ........ $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ...........$9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ...... $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .... $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ..... $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ......... .. $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .......$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?!
$21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the
source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car
doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God
forbid Pepto Bismol or Nyquil.
