That's some carnage, check out eBay. Get a cheap 5.3 and a Japanese turbo. Make sure the trans, drive line, rear end etc are solid.

That was the next motor to go in. It was still in the donor car during that video. Stay tuned.

The new motor is a built 305. The one off the dragster was a 350 that didn't last long. Only got to run a few people before it died. Gtoguy with his sti was the last night it was running and even then it wasn't running right.

Bought this sbc 400 from Indiana for $100 and had arrangements to get it built but I started second guessing things and changing the set-up, so it ended up never going anywhere.

Friend of mine had to sell his car for personal matters and I acquired it. On its way to its new home. Some how it didn't buckle from not having floors anymore.

Car was shot, Too much rust to even take the money or time to repair.

The engine, just a stout little ol' 305. Has stock 700r4 transmission and stock rear end.

Has a nice pro series torque arm that I'll be swapping over as well.

Yeah. It was on my buddies drag rail. He had the heads freshened up and the .510 cam but that was it. I ran it with a stock rear end and stock torque converter so racing from a stop wasn't happening. Had to get it up in the RPM's before it would move out. The thing was pretty neat tho, once the cam came in the rear end would squat so much the tires would rub hard in the wheel wells. I beat a few cars with it doing roll races but nothing special.

I don't understand this build. You have a better engine the 400 but your doing a 305? Why? If you do all this work why put a 305 back in it.

Yes the 400 is better but I can't afford to put that together at this time. Maybe by September I'll have it pieced together.

In all seriousness if that is the case wait until then. You will just be doing double the work now and later. If the 400 is your goal or you would prefer the 400 just wait. Because you are spending money now to get the 305 going and all the fluids and time.
