I'll be honest, I'm probably overthinking this way more than it needs to be, simply because I gotta save my pennies for another month to buy it so I have plenty of time...

Stall recommendations.

Truck is a 94 Yukon, 5.3 ss2 and a 4l60e and 3.42 gears. Guesstimate weight to be around 5500ish? I have no clue tbh.

I'm wondering if I get a 2600RPM converter it'll stall to like 28-3000, and I'm not sure what the benefits would be going higher or not. Do I need more?

Please advise.

I've got a 05 Escalade (2wd) that I have a SS2 build ready to go in, I was going toss a 2400-2600 billet at it once I swap. Right now I've got a very healthy/over built 4l65e with a woven clutch trailblazer converter in it. I think I'll need a tad more once I put the new engine in it.

I plan to continue to daily drive, so I don't want it much.

Fwiw, I had a 4,200lb single cab Sierra with a 5.3, btr stg 4 cam, 4l60, 4.10 gears and went with a 3,200rpm circle D stall. Worked as advertised, and still able to tow my car trailer around no problem.
If your on a tight budget and trying to keep the cam from surging, a v6 s10 converter fits the old 4l60 and stalls 2,000-2,200 rpm and for the newer 4l60 the converter from a inline 6 trailblazer stalls like 2,400rpm. Both are $120ish at the parts store.

Too fuckin late now!

Wednesday I'll slinging the engine in with a 3000 stall non-billet lockup 10 incher. I'll report back next week sometime.

So as is tradition, when I took the thing apart the water pump was fine, put it together and wham, leaky pump. Went to the yard Saturday and picked up a brand new pre-owned water pump, and mounted it up yesterday.

I can't believe I waited this long to get a converter. Whole new animal. Stalls kinda high, but eats like a champ.

Went with the summit house brand converter and it's working well.
