Kind of a dumb article. The author is assuming Facebook was going to blindly hand over the cash without doing their due diligence...and that Snapchat turning them down did them a favor. It was also made pretty clear that Facebook was interested in the huge user base and their metadata...Not the ability to monetize the app with ads, etc. Apples and oranges.
