Updated Plex today. HDR to SDR tone mapping confirmed as working!

Requires QUITE a bit of cpu HP though from my old 4790k.

This is 4k > 1080p 10mbps while I'm at work.

Looking through a few more movies and double checking the Tone Mapping conversion.

God I forget how detailed and gorgeous this move can be. The details in the CGI work are great.

This is the 4K HDR blu-ray rip, in original quality, being transcoded to 1080p 20Mbits SDR through my Comcrap connection and being watched at work.

Just noticed the DEVO bartender robots. Not sure why I never saw it before. I love that this movie just keeps on delivering the Easter eggs.

I'd say they FINALLY did get the HDR to SDR tone mapping resolved. If anything, I'd say the images look slightly over-saturated. But not horribly.

A good chair makes all the difference when you gotta plant yourself in one spot for a long time. You're not doing yourself any favors when you cheap out. I've had this one for almost going on 2 years now and absolutely love it, tho doesnt look like its available anymore, but anything from DXRacer is pretty quailty. And headrest pillows are a godsend

My work has the shittiest office chairs ever. Just bought an Autonomous Ergo Chair for my home office and I love the adjustability and mesh back. Contemplating buying another to take to work.

So, sister asked me how much it costs me to run the Plex Server. Thanks to the UPS and its data logging capabilities I can say exactly how much it costs.

The cost/kwh here is basically a roll-up of the last year's energy usage from the bills decided by the monthly cost.

So, for a 7 day period it uses just under 20kwh. It costs me about $2.6 per week in electricity. So about $11/month. Not sure how accurate the C02 emissions stuff is. Its basing that off a static entry on the UPS of kgC02/kwh.

Being that the UPS can run the server for almost 2 hours, I figure I may run a power line to the desk so that the computer desk stuff is powered from the big UPS and move my APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 to the Home Theater. When the computer desk is 'off' it should be a negligible hit in runtime.

Plus, I can install the APC Powerchute software on it and it'll shut-down the computers via network if the UPS goes onto battery power.

Custom cable extensions certainly clean up the build. Would really like to swap out the EVGA 3080 for the Gigabyte Vision 3080 to add to the white/silver theme.

I’m still rocking a GeForce 650 Ti Boost 1GB, don’t be jealous.

As long as I can do 2560 or 3440x1440 I’d be happy. Don’t need it for gaming, just work, photos, and some light video editing.

People in Facebook groups are getting shit on for posting the higher end (FTW3, Aorus, etc) card for what they paid OTD for them. So many salty little twats mad they’re too lazy to spend the time looking for them and get upset when cards get posted for anything over MSRP of a FE card w/o taxes paid factored in.

Same with reddit. You get lambasted for posting for a dollar more than MSRP. Meanwhile on earth they are MSRP plus tax and shipping for most. Mine was over $800 delivered from BB.
