I purchased a 1993 Volvo 244 for $400 that the head was wrecked on the b230 and has some “small” rust. I had been watching sloppy mechanics for about a year and a half while working on my 1983 amc spirit that I built with heads and cam 5.3. This time I knew a sloppy combo had to go in.
Fuel system is a walbro 450 pump on the stock hanger modified. Plan is for second pump this winter also swapping to a tbss/nnbs intake
I traded a fourwheeler for a Chevy 1500 with a 4.8, pulled the motor and sold the rest to fund some of the build.
The engine got a summit stage 2 turbo cam, pac 1219 springs and new lifters. I also checked the ring gap and all were about .030 so I slapped it back together.
Turbo kit is a vsracing “denmah kit” started out with cast chra and the rest built by me with the help of a monkeyfab t4 flange. 2.25 hotside, full 3 inch exhaust out the back.
It has a 4l80e that I picked up for $200 and did half of an hd2 kit in and bought a Ryan jans triple disc converter specced to 3500 stall.
I swapped in a narrowed 8.8 that I installed 9 inch ends on with a homemade jig and swapped to 3.27 gears in the rear.
Suspension is all rebuilt with stock stuff with plans for coilovers down the road
The car is on its third motor, first two popped on 14psi, the third is rebuilt with gen 4 rods and speed pro pistons currently living happily below 12psi until I switch to e85 next year! Any questions feel free to ask! I also have almost 200 other pictures of build/glamour shots.
