Yep, all those things will have to be checked... but so far... springs, rockers, pushrods are all ok. So that's a good sign for the valve train.

Yea... but no. Not going to a dry sump setup just for a fancy timing setup.

Yea, not sure about quick. Going to have to pull the motor out of the car to inspect it and replace the oil pan. Gotta run over to the local aeroquip store and buy another -10 weld in fitting... gotta source another oil pan...

sigh. what fun.

This stinks. Sorry to hear that. What brand of double chain was it anyway? When you put it on did you grind away on the front cover to help the chain and oil pump clear? I have a spare front and rear cover if you need it, but it sounds like you've got that all set. Be diligent when you pull that chain out and do your inspection. Last thing you want is some of that floating around in your valvetrain.

Yeah, maybe so. We'll have to see. I'm going to call Comp and see what they suggest given my spring setup.

I had a local truck shop weld it on for $30. Took 1 day. The place is just up the road from my house.

Just bought the replacement oil pan from a FS ad on TECH.

Going to have to clean up my old front cover, drill the hole and get the weld in -10. Hopefully all I'll have to do is to wait for the oil pan to get here!

That sucks but at least you found it without major carnage.
What do you think the cause was? Stretched chain and it slapped/snapped off? If there's anything I can do to help let me know.
