Dat clean interior! Gonna remove the silly floor mats and line x the floor before winter as well.

Today's goal though is to check, change fluids, and have a good look underneath.

The stock gauges were not very dependable and someone put in some cheap gauges under the dash which is horrible for viewing so I bought some summit gauges and decided to try and make them fit in the stock location.

The stock ones are just screwed in.

I used a dremel and cut out the old gauge then just slid the new summit digital gauge in. Also had to dremel out the back of the cluster to make room.

Pretty happy with how they turned out. If the sun hits at the right angle they aren't super easy to see, but I'm okay with that.

The carb on this beast is for a 350 so it started and ran decent, but always felt like it could perform a little better. So I decided to just go fuel injection using Fitech efi. I bought just the base kit and the decided to use an intank pump. Since the blazer went to fi in 1987 I just bought the 87 fuel tank sending unit then bought an upgraded pump for it. It dropped right in like it was made for it.

I also was going from spread bore to square bore so just decided to upgrade intake manifold and put on an edelbrock air gap. It's close to getting ready to fire just need to finish up some wiring and run the return line to the tank. Should be able to finish tomorrow.

Is that fitec one of the self tuning deals? I'd like to do something like that on my boat one day

Yea it is. Has a small handheld you tell it some basic things and then it's all self learning. My cousin has one on his 280z with a 327 small block swap and he hasn't had any issues so that's why I went with it. Plus cheaper than all the others.

this is a fucking awesome setup!! ive been trying to convince my uncle for years to switch the 396 in his 68 camaro to EFI using a kit like that.

it looks so simple!!

Any details on the cost into switching to the fitech?

Personally ive always wanted a big block tahoe setup like that too.

Please post up some driveability and mpg after too!

Well everything went as planned today. Still have a few small things I'd like to button up/change but it's running and driving with zero issues.

The installation is pretty straight forward. I'm happy I went with the intank fuel pump instead of the fitech setup. My gas gauge is a little off now (by about 1/8 of a tank) but other than that it fired right up first crank once everything was hooked up. I need to change my throttle cable hookup and get a air filter stud that fits. Also need to replace the hose clamp for my filler tube for my gas tank.

I can already tell that throttle response is way better and that light throttle while at low rpm is much smoother. Pretty excited about how it's all come together. Should make daily winter driving easy.

The fitech system it self is $995. You can get their fuel delivery system or do your own. I had a spread bore intake so I needed to change to a square bore which cost me more than it would to just by an adaptor plate or something. I'd say I'm close to $1,700 all done with the direction I went.

Well been driving it daily to work. Every once and awhile it likes to just die at idle at a light for some reason. Always starts again but slightly annoying. Haven't don't much else because I started a new job and well went full retard and bought another one because it was too clean and cheap to pass up.

M1009, so now CTC can say Joel and I are exactly the same person. Has stupid big HMMWV tires on it so I need to cut, lift, or get smaller tires. Not sure 100% what my plans are but it's awesome.
