1.
Bass Reeves, which is currently already in development. David Oyelowo leads the limited series in the titular role, a legendary lawman who became one of the greatest frontier heroes in America. Bass Reeves, who is believed to be the inspiration for The Lone Ranger, worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory. Reeves was the first African-American marshal to police the entire Oklahoma territory. ā€œTo look at a character like him, who got white-washed out of history, I just canā€™t wait to tell this story,ā€ Oyelowo says in the announcement video below.

2.
Tulsa King, which stars Sylvester Stallone as New York mafia Dwight Manfredi. He is released from prison 25 years after he was unceremoniously exiled by his boss. Dwight sets up shop in Tulsa, realizing that his mob family doesnā€™t have his best interests at heart. Naturally, he forms his own team to establish a new criminal empire instead. Tulsa King is expected to premiere in Fall 2022.

3.
Land Man is the upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and billionaires set in West Texas in the world of oil rigs that are reshaping the climate and the economy. Billy Bob Thornton plays the central protagonist, a crisis manager for an oil company. The show is based on a podcast of the same name.

4.
Zoe SaldaƱa joins Sheridanā€™s previously announced thriller Lioness. She plays Joe, strong-willed station chief of the CIAā€™s Lioness Program tasked with training, managing, and leading female undercover operatives working to assassinate the worldā€™s most dangerous terrorists. ā€œThis is an actual program between the CIA and Special Forces,ā€ Sheridan says in the announcement video. ā€œItā€™s a deep dive into espionage.ā€ Nicole Kidman and Tom Brady are among his co-producer on Lioness, which begins production in summer 2022.

"One of these days, weā€™re all going to look up, only to find that every single actor of a certain age in Hollywood has vanishedā€”whisked away to a magical land called Montana, where Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan pays them to run and laugh and play and pretend to shoot each other for all the live-long day. Kevin Costner is there; so is Helen Mirren. Sam Elliott? Heā€™s just having a grand old time, hanging out with Harrison Ford and Danny Huston and all the horses you can eat. And now, Deadline reports, Dennis Quaid has gotten the call: The Strange World star has signed on to appear in Sheridanā€™s The Bass Reeves Story, a spin-off of 1883, itself a spin-off of the mothership Yellowstone seriesā€”which means weā€™re well and truly into All In The Family begets Maude begets Good Times territory here, folks.

Anyway: Quaid has signed on for a starring role in Bass Reeves, which was announced last year, and which will star David Oyelowo as the title characterā€”a real-life U.S. Marshall who was one of the first Black lawmen to operate in the United States west of the Mississippi. (Itā€™s not hard to see why Sheridan was drawn to Reeves, by the by; with more than 3000 arrests to his nameā€”including, in a bit of drama worthy of Yellowstone, his own son, on charges of murdering his wifeā€”Reeves is a larger than life figure of 19th century history.)

Oyelowo was attached to the project last May. Now Quaid has signed on, playing a fellow Deputy U.S. Marshall. (A non-historical one, as far as we can tell.) He comes to the series after an increasing focus on TV in recent years; other small-screen credits of late include Goliath, Netflixā€™s Merry Happy Whatever, and Amazon Primeā€™s Fortitude. Itā€™s not clear when Bass Reeves is likely to start filming, although when it does arrive, itā€™ll almost certainly appear as part of Sheridanā€™s ever-expanding universe of shows on Paramount+."

Billy Bob Thornton plays the central protagonist, a crisis manager for an oil company. The show is based on a podcast of the same name.

"Hamm will appear in the series in a recurring guest star role. He joins previously announced series lead Billy Bob Thornton as well as cast members Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina ChƔvez, and Demi Moore.

The series is based on the podcast ā€œBoomtown.ā€ The official description for the series states it is ā€œset in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texasā€ and the world of oil rigs. It is further described as ā€œan upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, itā€™s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.ā€
