So after a "friendly" discussion it seems a lot of people have this wacked out idea that Mcdonalds fries are "the best" I strongly disagree with them even being considered as good, thoughts?

Best compared to what? They are not fresh cut so they automatically can only be the best from the frozen category.

Really good McD locations the fries are great.

Popeye's fries are better. Arby's fries. Lots of fries are better.

But I'd say McDonald's are the most consistent in being just fine.

The fry has to go with the meal IMO.

I want a flat top cooked burger, I want a McDonald's style fry.

I want some fried chicken, I want Cajun style seasoned fry.

Arby's are a top contender, only thing that grinds my gears with them is tiny pieces that'll break your tooth or coils that are Soggy

McDonald's fries are pretty good in the sense that they are pretty consistent. They almost always meet expectation. They aren't the best though.

Among the big chain fast food places, I like White Castle's crinkle cut fries.
