Fuck Samsung. Had two TVs die within 5 Years. Not to mention, their POS top loader washing machine caused over $50k flood damage to my house.

Very sorry to hear that, that sucks, but my personal experience has been pretty decent and their picture quality has always been top notch.

The South Elgin BB had an open box one of these (I think this is the model) for $809.99 on Saturday. I know the site doesn't mention it, listing it's lowest open box price still higher, but it was behind the service counter in the TV section.

I just picked up this Vizio in 65" for my basement. It looks fantastic and was perfect since its a dark room and long and narrow so the view angle is not important for my application. the menus are quick and responsive, setup was straightforward and after a little picture tuning I am happy with my purchase. I picked it up at Costco for like $870.

i picked up an LG 65" 4k HDR from microcenter for $699 ($300 off) a couple weeks back and am pretty pleased with it. I got an email today saying they are still running that price.

The in-laws picked up a 55'' TCL Roku for $299 at target (with 5% off) after I got them hooked with how stupid easy the TV is. TCL's still the best budget TV in my book. Pay a bit more and get their 600 series and most people will love it.

Currently watching my 2008 Viera 58” plasma. Seems pretty reliable. I have reservations on new electronics. If it’s over 5-7 years old, it’ll probably last forever. Although list price on this thing was $3700...

Been researching a 65" TV. I want something that's going to stay updated so I was leaning LG or Samsung. Even though I'm an Android fanboy I don't trust Sony to keep their TV's updated for years to come. I want to keep it around 8 - 900 but am thinking it might just be best to wait till next year and see if I can get something better than an edge lit set.
