A thermo-set plastic uses pellets or a powder mixed with pieces of nylon and is formed by heat and pressure. Similar but not quite the same. Fiberglass is a thermo-set material but not a plastic.

Yes, but no. Not traditional fiberglass, but not necessarily plastic, it's something entirely in-between. From what I've read the panels do have some reinforced glass fibers, but the material is far more flexible than traditional fiberglass.
