it was smokey as fuck which wasn't too super but whatever.

family's trailer out there then rented a side by side from a place in town.
worked out well for as little as we used it this trip- not having to tow a trailer all those miles out and back was nice.
and yeeeep put a carseat middle of backseat. babay lovvvvvvvvvved it.
as for the road trip part. so so.
she's been to kentucky 8? times at this point. south carolina once. and all over in between and now west.
we broke up going out 6-6.5 hours and the same coming back. so made the trip part of the adventure as well to keep our sanity.
we would typically leave in the morning and haul ass for 2.5-3.5 hours and get a legit sit down lunch somewhere baby could run around/stretch her legs and then if she didn't have enough energy out, find a playground wherever we could to let her play more and then just have another 2.5-3.5 hour sprint. this is definitely where the scurshun 44 gal tank comes in handy. some days i never got fuel...
Your like my Brother that was in the Army, he loves to drive. I think his longest drive was from here to Fairbanks Alaska when the Army stationed him there.

i think my favorite is how far homer is to fairbanks.
He just loves to drive man. On a whim he will just head down to Fort Knox or up to some town in Minnesota (6 or 7hrs away) to see friends.oh holy fuck man i love to drive but for holyfucksake do you know how far that is?! hooooly fucking shit.

No problem going by himself either lol. He has literally drove the whole Country. His last 6 or 7 years in the Army he got out of Infantry and into recruiting.
3 of those years in recruiting, the Army had him driving those semi's you see at shows, football games and conventions. He would literally be on the road 3-4 months at a time.
I don’t mind driving at all by myself, I leave at 2am stop for breakfast around Kentucky and make it to Florida buy early afternoon 2 stops tops, with my family I’ll be there by night fall and stop 6 times

I made this drive back in December of 2001. Drove for three 24 hour runs in a row stopping only for fuel. 24 hours, night in a hotel, 24 hours, night in a hotel, etc... My path went through Canada longer though and entered into the US via the Michigan UP.
Nice pics sir. Would like to do something like that with the ATV in the back of the truck. Just out and have a rental cabin to make a base out of.
Right now all am I planning is a ride to my dad's. Yeah, ride instead of drive. If I can get a few nice days I'll make the 1000 mile trip on the cruiser, meaning at least 500 miles per day, avoiding the highways. My longest seat time in one day is 360 miles going around Lake Superior. So this will definitely be extending that goal post. Just need 3-4 days of clear weather between here and there.

one of the guys i met out in thailand has lived and worked out of various trucks/vans before thailand, recently moved back to the US and is doing it again. not sure how long i would enjoy this kind of life? i do think it would be fun to try for a bit, to just drive around to cool places, set up shop for a few days, then move on to the next...
