And I'm an ILGPC alcoholic... :D ;)

I followed the bread crumbs and it lead me here. LOL!!

Man, these sites are cool. I used to run a BBS - under C64! So much has evolved.

Just out of curiousity, what kind of bandwidth is needed (cable ok?) to run a site with as many hits and usage such as ILGPC?

my dad used to help with a place called Q-Link with our C64. 300 baud modem! The guy who created Q-Link then went to start some crappy service, called AOL or something. Anybody hear of that program? ;) I guess my dad was offered to help with that too, but my he declined.

umm.. to run something like ILGPC.COM..... you better have something better than a cable modem... uploads on a cable are usually only 128k, and may go to 512k.... ILGPC was on a dedicated T1 line.. 1.54mb both ways... and now it will be hosted on an OC48 connection.. capable of 2.45 Gbps. if you are talking small amounts of traffic.. then cable would be fine... but ILGPC actually uses quite a bit of traffic.. I have never formally measured. but after today.. I will be...
