I've been a nest user for several years (read: before the Honeywell was out). Pass on the smoke detector, but the thermostat is amazing.

Yea it seems they spent a lot of time making the install and setup easy as pie. Any thermostat install is "easy" I suppose, but the setup was incredibly easy.

I like my nest quite a bit.

Have I taken advantage of half its features? No... But the build quality of it, and use of it are absolutely top notch. The thing came with its own screw driver even...

And the install was stupid easy. I emailed them a picture of what I had, and an hour later they sent step by step schematics with colored pictures unique to my setup.

For those who don't know, I'm a professional mechanic. Obviously I have great, expensive tools but at home I actually use that little screwdriver set from the nest often lol.

Install was a breeze. About to test the system. The green lights werent coming on once I restored power to everything. Pulled the inspection cover off and the lights came on. Whatever

And everything works. Great success.

Tho.... I think I heard something make a sparking noise someplace downstairs (like a crackling). That can't be good
