According to Ford the GT500 starts at $54,200

2013 Ford Mustang | Mustang Models | Ford.com

Credibility in this list just went out he window because a gt500 starts at $54k and no mention of a corvette which starts out at $49k

It does look like a base model 'Vette can indeed be had for under $50k. Is a base model Corvette faster than a GT500? I don't really know what they both run completely stock.

I think they are pretty damn close as far as 1/4 mile

Not a base vette or a Z06. The new Gt500 is a fucking bad machine. Highest hp ever to come from a factory car. They're saying it will do 200 stock.
