Mid-Engine Subaru Render Has Us Hoping The Rumors Are True

When you think of a modern-day sporty Subaru there are two vehicles that immediately come to mind: WRX STI and BRZ. Rumors recently surfaced, however, about a potential third Subie with aspirations of performance, and this one could take the automaker into unchartered territory with a mid-engine hybrid layout. In fact, the persisting rumors lead us to suspect engineers at Subaru are already working on this project.

I don’t think that’s too radical for them, it won’t look that aggressive though

Easy post. No they do not.

And if they ever did it would be another huge BRZ failure and have like 170 hp running skinny Prius tires non turbo.

Can you tell I’m mad they fucked up so bad on the BRZ?

I'm guessing they'd at least put the 300 HP engine from the STI in there.

I think it’s possible and would hope it would be a cool affordable fun car. Toyota had the MR2 and Pontiac had the Fiero. They have their cult followers and are still great to see today.

Seeing as what’s happened with the latest Gen of WRX’s and the fact that the BRZ never got a turbo variant I think it’s pretty hard to take Subaru seriously as a sports car manufacturer. But just for a minute, it’s still fun to thing about what they could do if they wanted to. Nissan has the GTR, Acura the NSX, Toyota has the upcoming Supra. Imagine if Subaru did stick a mid engine turbocharged Flat 6 cyl in this thing and created a 911 killer.
