So my Logitech doorbell is melting but being replaced. We had a new front door and screen door installed but in the afternoon it gets stupid hot cause the front of our house is facing west and we have zero shade. So all that afternoon sun beats on the front. I’ve thought about an awning but no clue on how aesthetics or even types or where to even start. Just wanted to hear others opinions to help shade and prevent damage to the new additions.

I want to add a pergola to our back patio for the same reason of it facing west and the trees in the yard are far enough away and not big enough. Causes the house to heat up like crazy from 2pm-6pm.

Had em on the house in Joliet. I liked them, but we also did have central air. I feel like they helped give privacy and kept the house cooler.
