I wish they expanded/turned the C3 line into a competitor with the ryobi 1 plus system.....

But i just realized they are both made by the same company...

DOH

The factory that makes Ryobi also makes several other off brands.

I can't see the Craftsman name being worth money in the billions. Millions maybe. Nothing branded as such seems to be very desirable.

Every crew we hire seems to rock one of three brands of electric power tools: Milwaukee, Porter Cable, and DeWalt.

Their homepage is picking up social tags, and it doesn't look like they have an intern to watch the feed

My brother is way into Ryobi and has been for over 10 years. Its good for the money. Sometimes I wish I went that route
My craftsman drill/driver is crapping out on me (well the battery is) and I needed a new drill. I've slowly been buying more and more Ryobi tools and just the other day I bought a drill that came with 2 batteries, charger, carrying case for $100 and you get a free ryobi product up to $80. So I took the 6 battery rapid charger with usb ports (worth $80). Charges 1 battery at a time in 30 minutes. Plus I also have one battery on my garage door opener just in case the power goes out (battery backup up to 14 hours). I'm liking the Ryobi line more and more.

I still like the Makita impact I have. 2 batteries, charger, and impact drill for $300 (back around 2005). My brother borrowed it and only charged it once since borrowing it (and I never charged it since I've had it), and when he gave it back a couple years ago, it still has full power. I rarely use it but the battery still holds a strong charge. I'm never getting rid of that.

Ryobi is made by the same company who makes rigid and Milwaukee. In fact in a tool tear down by AVE, he found several components in ryobi tools identical to that of Milwaukee and surmised that ryobi is likely the engineering test platform for the more prestigious Milwaukee brand

Selling homes on the Gulf Coast of Florida
Sears by me is closing so I have been watching the deals. Had my eye on their $129 Craftsman shop vac. 20 gal., 6.5 hp motor. It was 30% off for a while and they had half a dozen of them.

They got down to 2 left and dropped the price to 40% off. I grabbed one of them for $77. Man, it's a nice machine. The suction is phenomenal. Can probably vacuum a car in 5 mins. :bigthumb:

When they stopped just handing you a new one when you broke it, you knew it was over for them..

Oh well.. It was nice while it lasted.
