More than likely they were brand new actually. I guess the bedding procedure on trophy trucks is quite fierce. Add to that the brake pads have more metal than any other compound in them so it creates a lot of racket/grinding and throws sparks but stops the sumbitch on a dime.

I’ve also read pads/rotors/calipers cost $40,000 and typically last one race...[emoji54]

I'm not 100% on trophy trucks but in most forms of other racing I do know. What I would say is he put a whole race worth of beating on those brakes in that vid.
