I went with Epoxy floors. Best decision I made. Flooding also prompted my decision. My basement is a walk and that being said I didn't have sumps, I cut out 18" around the entire perimeter of my basement and did twin sumps kiddie corner from eachother. Never gonna have a water problem hopefully ever again. Firm believer of over building

Also then connected the radon to the entire drain pipe so now the radon pulls from the whole foot print. This project has been on and off for 2 years. Finally stating to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My old boss invited us to a company party at his house years ago. He stained his basement concrete floor similar to this pic. I thought it looked great and have always wanted to do to my basement if I ever get around to it. Adding it to the list:
1. Fix foyer light
2. Plant shrubs in mud pit by front door
3. Stain basement floor

Fuck this thread. I'm on a slab too.

However, I am bookmarking it, cause some day, probably in the not-so-soon future I'll have a newer house, with a basement, and will want to make it "mine".

Pool table (maybe), bar, surround sound and big TV (so acoustically dampened), and a reloading/gun room that's climate controlled. That's about all I need, so 1500-2000sq ft. should be enough. I have a lot to reload, lol.

Here is a great easy, cheap and awesome looking wall for anyone. I did this a few years ago.

DIY accent wall in my basement.
