Welp, I did a thing and bought a new 2021 Ford Edge ST with the twin turbo v6. I traded in my ford 2013 ford edge sport for it. I've had it for a month now just now getting around to posting it.

I forgot about this thread, and vehicle. Looking at the Edge lineup, I wonder why the ST has the 7spd trans while the non-ST's get the 8spd? Can the 8spd not handle the extra 85 horsepower and 100 lbs ft of torque?
From what I read, they basically eliminated a gear from the 2020 8spd to a 7spd in 2021 to solve the problem that blue-sun blue-sun (how do I tag him?) was experiencing with his 2019. The ratios were so similar for 2 and 3, that it was basically redundant anyway.

I'd like to check one out and drive one. Seems like with a simple tune it should be a solid daily driver. I'm can use some more cargo room than my Stinger, and also showing up to municipal Public Works facilities (my customers) in a Ford vs a Kia would probably be better for the whole "buy American thing". Just kicking around the idea now.

Just use the “at” @ symbol then start to type a name. It’ll autofill with any names that match, that you can select.

Nice. Between the Edge ST and the Explorer ST that she had, I preferred the way the Edge ST looked and drove over the Explorer ST. I think our big issue was buying it right as it came out.

Whats the difference exactly? I’m surprised the RWD biased one wasn’t your preference. Have driven Edges, not the new Exploder yet.

I think the chasis/suspension of the Edge was more car-like. I've always been into smaller, lighter, nimble cars (MR2, Integra, Eclipse, WRX, GTI, etc) I've never personally owned a truck or SUV, always cars. Wife's parents always had a truck or SUV, as they live out in the country and sometimes you just need a bigger vehicle there. The Explorer ST felt like a body on frame truck/SUV (to me) and handled like a school bus. I used to call it the school bus all the time. LOL Plus the actual size of it, from my standpoint, it was ginormous. Thing barely fit in our garage. It's just not a vehicle I would ever personally buy, but I know I'm in the minority. Trucks/SUV's generally do nothing for me.
