2001 BMW 525i
133,xxx miles
5 speed
bulletproof 2.5l straight 6
I see 26-28 mpg typically. Highway it gets 32-34 depending on how you drive. Car has 18 gallon tank so on roadtrips has great range.
I purchased fall 2016 to keep miles off of my truck and save on gas. I purchased it with around 118,000 miles from the nephew of the original owner. Came with a stack of maintenance receipts and is well maintained. Has dents/scratches consistent with it's age. Front passenger bumper appears as if though some sort of tiger tried to attack it quickly. Rear bumper has dents and scratches as well. Trunk lid has a few dents and a small rust spot starting just under the bmw logo- only rust I see on the car. It's a solid "ten footer"
Car has the options you want and nothing you don't.
Car has a fullsize spare that looks original- on matching rim to the other four.
Power telescoping & tilt steering wheel- I'm 6'5" and this is definitely helpful.
Power adjusting driver seat and headrest. Manual adjustment passenger.
Cruise control, power everything. Put the key in the door, hold counter clockwise, windows & sunroof open. Turn and hold the other direction and they close.
Power sunroof
Everything works as it should.
I have two keys- the batteries are dead in them so keyless entry doesn't work. Never bugged me enough to try to remedy.
Rear seat hardly looks sat in. Driver seat shows a small amount of wear on the seat bottom- you can see it in pics.
I replaced the floormats recently because the original one's backing was deteriorating and shredding on the carpet. Carpet is clean under the mats.
Manual HVAC controls- sweet because it just works and you don't have to worry about pixels burning out like the other cars or replacing the unit itself.
Halogen projector lights- bulbs aren't expensive but you can actually see. Car also has angel eyes which looks pretty good.
I added a Kenwood touchscreen head unit with bluetooth. PN DDX373BT. I did not have the steering wheel controls wired in.
I had the windows professionally tinted after I purchased the car in 2016 with llumar tint.
I replaced all four brake rotors & pads less than 5k miles ago.
New battery end of 2017 with 3 year free replacement warranty.
I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car absolutely anywhere. Solid every day car that is actually fun to drive and won't bore you to sleep. Peppy enough with the 5-speed for sure.
I purchased a newer version and this one has to go. No trades, sorry. Cash. Clean title in hand. I will entertain offers though.
Edit:
Found this spreadsheet from the guy I purchased from- who purchased it from the original owner- who was his uncle. I can't find my envelope of receipts I got from the guy.
I've had it since just under 120k miles, and it has just over 133k now. I've put less than 14k on it in just under 3 years.
