For Sale I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport (XJ)

I picked it up from another member in Fall, and fixed it up, and ended up never really getting “the Jeep thing”. It’s a charming little truck, but simply doesn’t get used with the Suburban sitting next to it.

It runs like a Swiss watch with a long list of new parts and I suspect an engine replacement at some point in time (267k on the odometer, but I have photos of the top end apart).

New parts:
Clock Spring
Turn Signal Stalk
Rear Plate Cover plastic
Rear Hatch Struts
Fuel Filler Neck Hose
Fuel Filler Vent Hose
Rear Leaf Spring Pack
Rear Shackles
Rear Endlinks
Rear Bump Stops
Rear Shocks
Rear Flag Bolts
Front Shocks
Upper Ball Joints
Lower Ball Joints
Front Axle U-Joints
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Valve Cover Gasket
Valve Cover Grommets
Water Neck
Water Neck Gasket
T-stat
Oil Change
Upper Radiator Hose
Heater Core Hoses
Serpentine
Driver front Door Catch and Pin
Tensioner pulley
Lift shackles
Coil spacer
Battery

It has some cosmetic blemishes, but is solid (floor plans have no rot, major mounting points are all clean, Unibody is solid, has a patch)

Grey interiors in great shape, aftermarket stereo and viper remote start.

My price is $2500, this is a stout platform to start a fun project with, and is a solid truck to start with. I’ve lost my ass on labor and parts already on this truck, so please don’t make silly offers.

Is this the Jeep w/ all the rust / rot issues?
It had a uni-body hole which was patched and reinforced (as disclosed in the ad).

The rest of it is generally quite solid (Especially the floors which are usually the first to go), but thanks for shitting un-necessarily on my thread

Asked a legitimate question. Your phrasing of “generally quite solid” and defensive stance raises concerns as to the condition of the Jeep.

We understand the Jeep Cherokee is not the poster child for safety and if it is rusty / rotted or patched then you can understand the structural questions.

Your question in no way indicated any interest in the vehicle and is just general Dickery.

The thread on the rust repair was well documented with photos (Not that you give a fuck).

Alright, so this is the Jeep with rust/rot issues.

Thank you for clarifying.

Questioning the structure of the chassis of a vehicle isn’t dickery. Selling a pile on a forum where guys try to respect each other however is.

All XJ's had rust issues it sucks. This one at least looks clean unlike mine that had holes in the fenders. Things are runners!

Rockers go first, spreads into floors. If you catch it in time they can last a long while. My first XJ had rust issues when I got it and some grinding/painting kept the rot out of what mattered for my four years of ownership.
