🔧 Technical Suggestions for 17x6 tire replacement on Weld RT's

As the car is approaching completion, I’m wanting To replace the tires on my weld RT’s. I bought the setup used and previous owner had a 225 tire mounted on the 17x6 wheel and it looks ridiculous.

any recommendations on a front tire to run? Running a 28” MT eat street are in the rear. i reached out to MT and they informed me they don’t have a tire that would work on a 17x6

Why not the M/T SR 26x17 or 28x17?

I have the 26x15 on my '67 and the 28x17 on my 5th gen.

Only downside is they are heavy but a good road tire. They also make a bias 17" and MH makes a DOT and a non-DOT bias too.

235 50 17s are just a hair over 26 inches. After that your bout into suv sizes

That’ll be too wide. currently have 225‘s on the fronts and it looks like shit so I’m wanting a skinnier tire. You can kind of tell how wide They are in these pics. obviously, I could buy different wheels with the correct offset, but I got these for a steal. The wheel itself only poke out a hair over 1/4” but with the tire being so wide, it looks 10x worse.

What tire is those and what size? MT emailed me back and said they didn’t have a tire that would fit a 17x6.

unless I got my measurement of the wheel wrong, because their website also doesn’t list the 17” RT’s as a 6” option

Just went home and realized I was wrong. It’s a 17x7.5 wheel.

I think I’m just going to sell them and buy an actual skinny front runner and just run my stock 5 spokes up front for now.
