This new company has just done COL adjustments for 3 years now, and no formal reviews (because what value would that provide if it's not tied to a merit raise). As much as I hated the last company's review process, I did like having specific goals that I could exceed to justify a bigger merit raise. Nobody here even does performance reviews unless you have someone on a PIP.

It's weird but overall still much much better than the last company.
Yeah I mean they weren't even doing that it seems. Our company before the merger, I did a bi-annual review with my manager and knew exactly what needed to be done, what our goals were, etc. This company that's 8x the size? Nothing until recently.

It is frustrating because I know my peers all get basically the same amount of money as I do or more. One has significantly less responsibility & headaches (I used to have his job) and in this company that means lower risk of getting fired, another is a short timer that is shedding responsibility at an incredible rate, another was grandfathered in to a job class higher than me and gets a killer bonus as a result...yet we all get the same raise? Frustrating, but whatever, not a huge deal. This is something that I don't think any company does completely right (or even well), so in that perspective I have it pretty good.

I think I finally convinced our IT director to start doing reviews for all the IT sections. I asked my boss "how am I supposed to ask for a raise when all the shit I've done isn't covered and I'm just left sitting her with my dick in my hand?"

We also got a 3% raise for the first time but it was department wide. So. Cool I guess.
Yeah, we typically do a flat % raise across the company. So my extra effort max workload self gets the same % as the fucker doing nothing.

We have yearly goals that we have to come up with ourselves and our manager, but they are not ties to our review, but done at the same time. Also, work will do an almost complete restructure in November when we go live with our new system, so goals we set today are basically useless. Yet we still need to set them. Oh, and they have no weight on our raises as well. So still no incentive to complyhem at all.

I was doing like 85mph, the State boys dont have any lanes blocked on 290, they werent even on the seen. Probably 10-12 Addison cops if thats Addison right there
As mentioned if he jumps, he is going to land in the dirt or far inside of the shoulder. Attention whore, if he was really about it, then he woulda been dead center over 290 so if he jumped he was pretty much guaranteed to be road kill.

Pizza place on Saturday charged me $205 and another charge for $215 as we added something last minute.
I called them today to get the $205 refunded. The girl said "the owner saw that you guys actually order from us often, would you prefer a $205 credit"
To which I responded, "I'm not trying to sound like an asshole, but ask Chris (owner) how many times I place a $205 order, and I want it refunded to my card"
She then said, "oh you know Chris, um yeah, I have only been ordering from him the last 23yrs" lol
Because you fucked up, you want me to take a $205 credit. I order from there once or twice a month and my average total is like $40, get the fuck out of here with that credit shit.
