Why new fork?

I've got a rockshox Reba race right now and it's 100mm (currently at 80mm). This frame is made for 4-6" and I'd like a pike u-turn air for it. It's gonna be my cross country/all mountain so I'd like to run more.

Wanna buy it? It's a super light dual air fork. Has a lockout and a gate so you can set it to get full travel when you hit a bump.

What colour is it? I have been looking at getting a new fork and 100mm is what i am pretty much limited too.

You liked it at 80mm? I currently have 100mm of travel and it feels pretty good. is this one of those forks you need the air pump for?

Well I ran it at 80 cause I had it setup basically as a bmx bike. I took it to kettle and my bike as a whole sucked ass there. This was the reason for a whole bike overhaul.

If you've got a 100 now I'd just keep it at that. Any more and it'll feel floaty when climbing and will have some slow steering. You'll have the opposite at 80. Quicker steering and it'll climb better cause you'll be more forward but obviously won't soak up larger bumps as well.

Yea it's full air so there's a shock pump for it. I've never had to fill mine up again since the first day I bought it.

That gate technology is pretty slick. I am pretty sure i am not supposed to run more than 100mm on this frame. So does the pump just make it firmer or what?

Yea the floodgate is sweet for sure. I can't remember if the pike air has it or not. I hope so.

You use the pump to set it for your weight/riding style. Basically the air is your spring so to stiffen it you add a touch of air to the positive side. The negative side controls your initial bump settings. This article explains it perfectly.
