Now I'm regretting dropping these off. Tire changer is $600 shipped and I'm about to pay $60 to have these swapped, and a friend is paying another $60. Figure I'd change my own tires 3 times a year minimum, could easily find some other people to make up the difference, it'd pay for itself in one season

Step up

Just dumped $19.5k in to my 401K, killed me to do it. But was either that or take it on top of my taxed bonus and get taxed on an extra $19k.5.
Talked to my accountant and he said go ahead and do it. Paycheck Friday is going to be VERY NICE as we had another good year. Also rcvd $9k from a customer last night. My partner and I will split that in cash as expense reimbursements for the year. This is my favorite week of the year, lol.
Only thing on my CC is my rims for my TH and $2k I owed the engine guy for the Regal.

There was a conversation going back to the sous vida thread and it spilled over into the bored thread.
I remember you posted a picture of a hard boiled egg with the grayish hue on the outside of the yolk saying that's not the way it's supposed to be

To save how much weight? Enough to make an impact on lap times?
It would be enough to drop lap times. The cast wheels I used to have were about 24 lbs, forged wheels currently on the bike are 18.5 lbs, and the rotobox's are 12.5 lbs. Stooopid light

It'd also be nice to have wheels with street tires and wheels with track tires, now that it's almost a certainty that I'll leave OE plastics on it and dual-use the bike this summer. Even when they're made of the same compound, the tread on a street tire results in seriously diminshed tire life when you're at the track, and they cost more than slicks. I chew through supercorsas at the track like DEEZUZ DEEZUZ goes through sin socks. At $240/rear that gets old fast

I went through a rear supercorsa in 12 sessions last year in the middle of summer. I'm making some suspension adjustments to help that, but it won't totally go away. That's when I switched to michelin slicks

That is a lot lighter. Would make changing direction at speed easier too. Less rotating mass to fight, less inertia.

I say go chrome. Get them up to 30-40lbs each. Stand the bike up in the corners like most liter bikes do

I have the Pilot Power 2CT on mine for both track and street. I don’t need to push the bike to 9/10 or 10/10 at the track to enjoy myself. A lap to warm them up is fine and they don’t degrade.

Michelin rep said,“shit, just leave them in the sun while you’re in the pits and you’ll be fine after half a lap.” Granted I’m not going to be able to keep up with someone on slicks using warmers.

On the 600 I have shredded a few sets of the 2CT at RA.
