3800 My car boosts 10psi with the stock pulley

When im out scanning my car with the LS1m, and I consistantly see ~10 psi max boost. My mods are 3.8 pulley, DHP, Thrasher Intake, u-bend delete, 180stat, AcDelco Iridum plugs, boost-bypass valve mod.

I herd stock pulleyed GTP's make like 7-8psi

What kinda boost do you make with a 3.4? I would expect to get like 12-13 when I install mine if my car is getting 10 now.

11-12 is normal for a 3.4

Some more versed on the subject will probably append my response, but a stock pulley runs about 4.5 lbs of boost, not 7-8. Each bar on the DIC is worth a 1/2 lb and there are 10 bars.

I get 12 lbs with the setup in my signature at WOT and a 3.2, but it really depends on what setup you have.

10 lbs with a stock pulley tells me that your scanner is not reading things correctly or something else is wrong.

10 pounds is about right for what you have. When I was at a similar mod level but with a 3.4" pulley I made 12 psi @ WOT. Hell, I still make 12 psi with a 3.2" and a much more opened up exhaust.

i saw ten pounds on a stock puley ...its called highway,and high baromic pressure...i asked this question when i first joined.is it always 10 pounds or just once in a while
mine was 8lbs normallyand hit ten only on cold days and on the highway it always goes up a little

I'm thinking anything over 12 pounds starts to overstress the stock pistons. I may be wrong but higher boost isn't always desireable.

there are many of use seeing over 12 psi.. i dont think that is bad for the stoc pistons.

10psi with the stock pulley on a cold night isnt bad, sounds about right to me. Im seeing about 12psi at the top of 1st on these cold nights.

I made this same post on clubgp and some people told me I might have a collapsed cat.

If your car is stumbling and just falling on its face in the upper rpms, you do, otherwise its fine. Weather, free flowing intake, and restrictive exhaust are giving you the 10psi in boost.

I have a open cone, PEMs, 3" DP, high flow cat, no resonator, and I hit 12psi at the top of first with a 3'4 pulley in this cold weather.

well also you gotta consider boost stacking, you probabally arent actually flowing 10psi throught that thing.

mine saw 16psi......look at my pistons....or whats left. :lolsign:
