It isnt hard to keep a car clean in the winter :dunno: there are auto washes that just use high pressure flow and work really well 5 bucks and your clean. I personally think that unless the car is a classic and is rare then storing it seems silly. Like stated before these cars are made to stand up to weather. My shit has had ice and salt all over the damn thing. A 2 min wash fixed that. Maybe I live in imagination land?

The automatic car washes are the worst possible thing for a car's paint. I'd rather keep my car dirty. Ick.

This thread is :bowrofl: how'd I miss it.

I always have them NOT wash my car at the dealer. As a matter of fact, I didn't even let them take the plastic off the seats when the car got delivered to the dealership. I picked up my brand new car, filthy as shit, with plastic all over it.

I mean it is a bunch of high pressure washer nozzles...how could it hurt anything or be bad? There are a few around here that just suck, but the one down the road actually does a great job and even cleans the wheels real well. I guess it just depends on who runs them. They seem to use pretty good soaps and stuff in the one here.

I didn't see that you meant touchless washes, at first I read automatic washes in general. But it must just be the touchless ones I've been to. I always would come out of there with dirt still on the car that some high pressure water and soap couldn't get off.

yeah, I actually just read further down the page when you pointed that out...my bad on that. I agree there are some terrible ones though. The one like 5 or so miles down the road will leave a gritty soap residue on your car which you have to manually wash off anyways. I just really feel it depends. The one down the road is solid though, what helps is that it has a dual pre soak deal and it smells really orangy. Most dirt will pretty much be running off after that alone cause it does get to soak for a minute. Not very many around here do that.

It's cool man. The ones around here definitely don't do that, the only one I can think of is a BP wash. I haven't been to that one in a number of years, I wish there was a place close(as in lazy close) that'll do a handwash. I know a few people here are relatively close to me, maybe I should just start making the extra trip!
