I'm getting better at TIG welding. Here's a repair to a MM valve cover.

I want a welder, but it would get me in trouble. I'd weld everything to everything.

I love and can perform all welding processes but my favorite is TIG welding.
It does have the biggest learning curve but as you are finding out, it really is practice, practice, practice.

Nice job on that repair, looks good!
