Pyrometer who has had?

I want to know where is the best place to mount the probe. I know it says 1-2 inches from the head on the manifold but i have headers. So do i just pick one tube and go with it or do i put it by the collector? Also what temps to i expect to see at idle, cruise speed, and wot? If someone could school me that would be great!:biggthump cough cough...Bob...cough lol

only really useful in a diesel but you can use the temp readings to tell if your running rich or lean based on the temp

better off just getting an wideband though

Yes, EGT gauges aren't as important as a wideband. I have had both in another car and the wideband was much better.

No there not just for diesels and i know a a/f meter is better but i got this for free and want to try it out!! Thats why i ask!

I also have JBA shorty headers. My sensor/probe is mounted right up top close to the head
