Are you sure its from the trans? Pull shifter boot off and put your hand on the shifter arm to feel for vibrations. Could possibly be a spider gear going out in the differential? Just trying to offer another possibility for ya!

When I blew my diff it was a spider gear that went on a launch. Sound was horrible!

I thnk WIKED03 and RDSNAKE had same issue after half shaft carnage... only would happen at certain speeds.

My car developed a nasty vibe after breaking a halfshaft. The vibe happened in any gear, but got WAY worse in 5th & 6th @ highway speeds. Talked to Hans about your car the other day, and the symptoms are a little different but it could still very well be the input shaft. I remember seeing a few people on modfords have this issue as well... not sure if they ever came to a concrete conclusion though.

Is it a liberty input shaft?

Agreed on the input shaft. Dan and I replaced one recently for a board member who had the same issue........

Was it a liberty? I haven't heard any cases of the D&D one bending in that scenario.

yes it was a liberty 26 spline input shaft didnt think those would bend maybe shock of breaking halfshaft bent it damm money pit these cars are

I broke a half-shaft in the past and I subsequently discovered my vibration was because I bent my input shaft. Whether those two event were related, I don't know.

Yes Carl, it was a Liberty.

I also broke one at the track last year. The temp. stock one I put in was bad.Also vibrated a lot. It was good enough to get me home. Put a new stocker in and rode fine.

Hopefully not another liberty one. I haven't heard any cases of the D&D one bending. I was also a bit turned off by the dick at liberty that told me that it was IMPOSSIBLE to bend their input shaft with less than 500 rwhp.

yeah hopefully this d&d doesnt bend again :headbang:
