But, it will. I tried putting the car on it tonight, but it was a bit too steep, and sides would not clear :/ So, tomorrow I have to get more lumber and make the ramp a bit longer/less steep.

there is alot of support under it. The ramp itself is a bit flimsy, but the actual platform is much sturdier. If you look at it you will see that there are stands on both sides of the tire, and they're about 2ft away from each other.

I'll take some better pics once I clean up tomorrow. And actually put the car on there. BUt, as I was putting it together I was always thinking of a best way to distribute load, and then how to prevent the beams from parting & so there is no sway.

Dude you are going to need some steel reinforcement in that. I think it looks good but looks good doesnt trump 3800# of car on my head.

What is the point of putting the car on it? Really cool idea, but you are risking ALOT (especially backing the car off that ramp after it sits untouched for 4 months).............for what?

Exactly. It's a badass idea and some kickass craftsmanship, if i was bored i'd do it lol, but i see no point.

Why don't you pick up on of the lifts that you can jack it up 3ft off the ground. They are only like $1000 and your safe, you wouldn't catch me driving a car up on that or getting under it either!! Yikes!!

The lift that I'm thinking about has a yellow 68 superbee in the add and its in most mags.

He doesn't need any steel reinforcement to support the weight. He has used 4x4s to the point of overkill, long as everything is true and has adequate torsion braces those 4x4s can hold well over 4000lbs

The reason being is too not have moisture settle under the car at any point during the winter. As long as the temperature stays consist in the garage, it should be good.
