theft light help

so we tried firing up the v6 and it has power but will not turn over... the theft light is on???? anyone got anything for me here?

Does the light come on steady, or does it flash? On steady for a few moments and then going out means the theft system is working properly. Flashing means there is a problem, either the chip in the key is no good or not programmed, or the transceiver for the system is not working. You may also want to check the battery with a volt meter, it may be just strong enough to turn the lights on, but too weak to energize the starter. The computer won't turn on unless it has over 10 volts to it.

you can always try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer. Might work.

does the car have an orignal key or is it a copied key... if you have a coppied key just spend 200 on a sct chip and delete the key code.

i had the same problem on my car... ford said it would be 700 to make new keys and recode them for me...

Wow, that's quite a price range on what it could cost to fix it. I bet the key you have never got programmed.
