Don't know the answer to your question, but, I was told to go w/ the 255 45 17 on stock rims.

I went with the Dunlop Winter Sport M3's about 2-3 weeks ago. Fantastic winter tire and with an additional 100lbs of salt in the trunk... :headbang:

I just looked up winter tires @ tire rack (03/04 Cobra) and they said the tire size you mentioned (245 45 17). So, I say you're good.

I just order mine from Tire Rack. They said that
245-45-17 will fit the stock rims. The 255's that you have will work, they are just a little bit wider.

I tried to get tires from NTB in town, but they needed to order them. He told me to order the tires from Tire Rack on line then send the tires straight to NTB and he would install them. I'm going to use an old set of rims that have curb rash for the winter tires and the good set for summer. I don't plan on driving the car during the winter, but shit happens were you do need the extra car!

255 is the skinneist I read to go on 9" I'm running 255/45/17 on my 95 chrome cobra r reps in the front.

I've run 245/45/17 Blizzaks on stock Cobra rims for three years now without any issues (except for dry traction )

I see many snow tires on tire rack web site in 235 & 245 that recommend up to 9" rim.

245 45 17's will fit just fine......I just sold a set of these for $200.00 btw.....

And yes...good in snow.....really is a good all around tire.....even thou all of people bad mounth them....
