Default timing advance question. 03 cobra.

here are the mods. we are trying to tune it and having issues.

sct 2400
kb 2.6 @ 20 PSI
boost a pump
basic intake
full exhaust

we are getting around 20* of advance at redline.

is that about right? i've never tinkered with a boosted car, so i don't know if thats ok or bad.

What are you using to tune? If SCT, do you have the scalars for the 2400? What kind of issues you seeing? Have you datalogged and adjusted the MAF curve? Do you have injectors?

20* at 20psi is pushing it if you're using 93. With good gas these cars seem to like 21-23*

And just like Victor said...you guys arent running stock 39s are you?

If you've never tuned one of these cars, starting with the combo above could be pretty risky. I hope you've got more than 93 octane in that car and bigger injectors.

We got it sorted out. its at 18.5* advanced. running good.

The only way to tune ignition timing is on a dyno. If you're tuning the car on the street dial in the A/F to where it needs to be and be conservative with the timing. Then just rent out a dyno for an hour to dial in the timing.
