head porter

I'm looking for a good head porting place. I was looking at fox lake but stage 1 is like $1200 kind of expensive... Anyone use/know anyone place that has done 4 valve stuff. Id like to keep the whole deal under $1000 or so.

Total Engine Airflow, they do great work and have an awesome reputation...not sure on the price but worth checking out for sure.

kevin, the guy i work for does performance work on the side. he's worked with modular heads before and knows his shit. he will beat any price of any major shop and get what you want done. PM if you want more Info.

if you want a amazing head port livernoise motorsports does great work. They had a sale $1400 for a set of 4v's!!!

Save your money. The stock heads are not that bad, especially if you are only going to port them.
If you are going to do anything, install lighter valves and retainers and better guides.

Bennett Racing also does some good 4v stuff....The 05 has been 8.56 with their FR500's.....Also Competitive Edge did our first in the 9's 3v heads...they also do some good Modular stuff

There are stock head/cam cobras in the high nines, how much faster are you looking to go? Before you drop $1400+ on headwork supercharged cars wont see a huge different only if your car was N/A would head porting matter. Everyone can spend there money how they want though...

Call Mike at High Flow heads, hes in alsip. My buddy gets all his stuff done with him and hes a great guy. A friend of a friend got his 2000 Cobra R heads done there, so I would trust him.

For the money, just turn the boost up a little more. It will cost a lot less than heads. The 03 heads are not that bad at all. Unless you are trying to squeeze every bit from the engine or have some loft goals you should be able to reach the power you want with the stock heads.

Without going into detail, Mike is a scammer.. if anyone wants info about him, shoot me an email.. but i had him freshen a set of heads for me this summer and have had him do stuff for me in the past (along with doing stuff for other friends)... this is FIRST HAND experience..

I saw this guys work on my buddy's Marauder.
Looked like he used a dremel tool to clean the heads up and promised 80 horsepower.
Well, It didnt make any more horsepower.

Porting the heads will help, Competitive Edge has ported several set for us with great results. Currently I have a set of 03 cobra heads that are ported I will sell at a great price. They have fr 500 cams in them.
