Gates or Gatorback Belts?

Hey guys, which are better the Gates or Gatorback belts for the S/C belt? Need to order a 75" (or 75.1" depending on the brand)

A gatorback will tend to shred on a non-slip grooved pulley because of the pattern on the belt. If you have a non-grooved regular upper pulley, then a gatorback will give you a louder whining sound when the belt is spinning.

This is NOT true. I have put over 8k miles on a gatorback belt with a BF non-slip upper pulley, no shredding.

Gatorbacks do make more noise though.

Don't forget about the Dayco poly cog. I have that on my car now. Slightly louder than the Gates, not much of a difference for me otherwise.

Personally I like the Gatorback belt better..

mainly because it's louder....

it makes it sound like there's more blower whine, and I love when my bitch whines, I just slap the go pedal to the floor

The sound wasn't worth the additional $500 I'd have to pay for a KB...

its hard to compare the 2 blowers on price alone, as you get everything you need with the KB kit- all OE Ford gaskets, tstat,belt,bolts,something im probably forgetting...................

Yup...that's where I ordered from. Got my Gates belt and a set of TR6's. Ordered Wednesday night, they shipped yesterday (Thurs.) morning, and they're on the FedEx truck for delivery today.

Oh yeah...UPS man dropped off my Nittos too!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! Went with the 315/35/17. :clap: :clap: :clap:
