A gatorback will tend to shred on a non-slip grooved pulley because of the pattern on the belt. If you have a non-grooved regular upper pulley, then a gatorback will give you a louder whining sound when the belt is spinning.

This is NOT true. I have put over 8k miles on a gatorback belt with a BF non-slip upper pulley, no shredding.

Gatorbacks do make more noise though.

Personally I like the Gatorback belt better..

mainly because it's louder....

it makes it sound like there's more blower whine, and I love when my bitch whines, I just slap the go pedal to the floor

Gates.....

Jack if you wanted to actually HEAR your blower as well as feel the difference you should have went KB................

The sound wasn't worth the additional $500 I'd have to pay for a KB...

however, my donation box is always open :biggthump

its hard to compare the 2 blowers on price alone, as you get everything you need with the KB kit- all OE Ford gaskets, tstat, belt, bolts, something im probably forgetting...................
