Ok, I figured that I would post here before going to Ford...

It is seldom that I hit a bump in the road (I go around them when possible)
but I have noticed EVERY time I hit a bump I get this squeak,
sounds like it is coming from the back of the car.

Bushings? What do you guys think? Ford told me most likely they'd lube it and go. Could it be ANYTHING more serious?

Because if that is their cure, I am thinking about getting Steeda bushings :dunno: give me your input :biggthump

Thank You All in Advance :)

Bushings in rear are rubber and there are no zerk fittings to lube. You have Front Diff Bushings, Rear Diff Bushing, Lower Control Arm Bushings, Upper Control Arm Bushings, Sway Bar Bushings and Rubber Spring Isolators. What are they going to lube?

I don't know, but thats what they said they do :dunno:

I am going to take the car in hopefully this week, and see what they have to say, go along for the test drive and show them, it is fairly loud, hoping it gets fixed asap (it sounds like metal on metal)

My car has the same problem and I haven't been able to find the source. I can replicate the noise at will by going up an incline and moving the car by getting on and off the clutch/gas. Going over bumps with the rear does it too. I'm getting my spring isolators replaced soon and after that I'll try experimenting some more.

Susie, do you still have stock bushings in the rear (IRS, differential, etc) ?

Everything in the suspension is stock :biggthump

Let me know if you find out what is going wrong with yours,
if the dealership doesn't find something wrong with it tomorrow,
I am going to look into other alternatives (after market most likely)

There is an area in the trunk on the right side near the front that some have found as a cause of a metal to metal noise. Don't know if it is the same problem as you have but might be worth a look.
Mine has the noise too, but I haven't had time to track it down. Mine sounds like metal to metal in the right rear corner when I go over bumps.
I sent this link to Tito, because it resembled the noise he had too.

This is a pic from the above thread showing the source of the squeak

Well, I went into the dealership yesterday, and have to say was not very pleased, the service manager took the car for a drive, (now get this)

With....

- The windows up
- The air on full blast
- AND the radio on

(trying to find the squeak      )

I confronted him about this, and he said it was hot out :argue:

Then I proceeded to take him for a drive (which he heard the sqeak and said I dunno) :bash:

I go in and ask for a MECHANIC, get one and he heard the sound, and test drove the car, even put it on the rack, and he said everything seemed to be fine, (I trust his opinion)

I am going to take the car to my buddy Dan
(one of the best bodymen at Cars) :biggthump
and have him try and locate the squeak, I don't honesty know what else to do from this point.

I did however have a talk with the main guy at the dealership about the IDIOT service manager, how do you hear a noise with ALL the accessories on???? :dunno: What a Douche Bag ! :lmao:

Go ahead. I'll catch up.

Selling homes on the Gulf Coast of Florida
Lyle and I dug into the creak/squeak problem tonight. I left my carpet out after the Vince improved Mathis brackets install so I could track down this annoying problem. I had my car in to Tirapelli for this but they didn't fix it in two tries.

I am happy to say that Lyle and I did find the cause. Pulling or pushing on the outside of the vertical panel shown [with the red clamp on it] made the creak noise. Lyle noticed there is a weld missing on the passenger side of the car in the area shown here. Driver's side has the weld, passenger side does not. Rather than weld up the car [no welder handy] we bent the wheel well panel down a little AND THE CREAK/SQUEAK IS GONE! I drove my car home with no creaks at all. Lift up on the screwdriver handle and bend the wheel well panel down in a few locations. Test for the creak by pulling and or pushing on the vertical panel.
