Clutch OK!

Just for the hell of it I put my car in sixth gear at around 2000 RPMs and punched it to test the clutch. The RPMs stayed low as the car slowly accellerated. I guess my clutch is still grabbing well [11,000 miles]. No pinging from detonation, either. Gotta love the stock cars for longevity...

I have 22,000 miles and still have my original clutch. It still grabs good. Although, most of the time I drive like a Grandma :biggrinan

This is war! I have 23,000 and the clutch is still good. Rear end is leaking but the clutch is still good.

Hey Cliff,
Why not see if Ford will install a new clutch while the trans is out? They may just do it for free since there have been soooo many problems with the stock units.
