Micky Thompson will be shipping by the end of April a 305 X 30 X 19 Drag Radial.

It's about time....and I can't wait. FINALLY a tire that will hold my power.
Now I don't have to buy the ugly 18" version, much less pick some other wheel which I almost did. I just hope I can be responsible and NOT wear them out as quick as I used to with the 03. 2500-3000 miles was all I could manage because I just love to smoke'm here and there if you know what I mean.

Good find there Aron. The woman at MT told me the Manufacturers list price was $437.00ea.
Yikes. I looked at the link for Summit and see a min. width of 10" for mounting.....NOW WHAT....does that mean my 9.5 won't work?
I once had a set of BFG's that were too wide and looked like shit mounted on my OEM 03 wheels.

Rule of thumb is you can go 1" +/- from thread width, which in this case is 11.2". Can you put it on a 9.5" wheel? Yes, but it is not ideal. Like Jason said, the tread will be bulged, so the centers are going to wear fast and you won't have an ideal contact patch. You may be able to run lower tire pressure to get your patch back, but that's going to slow you down. Regardless you'll be better off getting the proper wheel for this tire or the proper tire for your wheels.

it really depends on the manufacturer of the tire. one company's 305 could be narrow than one company's 285 while it could be also be wider than another company's 315.

It will probably mount up no problem on a 9.5 but will buldge a little bit.

Its no different than the mustang gt guys running 275's on their 17x8's.

Yeah, you aren't gonna want to mount a 305 on a 9" wide wheel. It will crown too much in the center and defeat the purpose of having a wide tire with a large contact patch.
I have my 305's (my 19 inch street tires and my 18 inch MT DRs) both mounted on 9.5 inch rims. Ideally you'd want a 10", but the 9.5 will work effectively. Unfortunately, those tires are too tall for my needs. My 305/30/19 RE-11's and 305/30/18 MT DRs are both nearly perfect at 26.3 diameter.

How tall are the factory tires on the GT500?
